Trivia

  • Railroad crossings vary from cartoon to cartoon
  • Some cartoons use realistic or almost-realistic crossing warning devices on their cartoons (for example, a crossing gate arm with red lights or red light-like objects on it, which is very rare to find in cartoons and animated shows)
  • Other crossing devices featured in cartoons are very different than what's used in real life. Signals may look different than in real life, and crossing gates can be different colors. Though crossing gates in the U.S. and many other countries these days are red and white striped, some may be black and white or black and yellow as has been in past years.
